RE: Division's Name Change
The name of the Division of Academic Assistance has been changed to the
DIVISION OF ACADEMIC ENHANCEMENT. This name better reflects the mission
of the Division since the courses and services offered have expanded far
beyond that of providing traditional forms of assistance. Several of
the expanded or newer services offered by the Division include:
· Adjunct Seminars taught in conjunction with many large lecture core
courses
· Peer and professional tutoring for a wide variety of courses
. Residence hall satellite offices in the Colonial Area offering
tutoring and academic programming
· A variety of UNIV prefixed courses, 8 of which offer elective degree
credit;
· The Absent Professor Program which "substitutes" for faculty who must
be away from class on University business
· Freshman College Summer Experience providing regularly admitted UGA
students with an opportunity to adjust to the academic rigors of
college prior to fall.
Over 10,000 students, or approximately 1/3 of the student body, used the
Division's services last year.
If you would like to learn more about these and other services currently
offered by the Division of Academic Enhancement, please consult our
