Old Business:
-Brenda Keen recommended people attend the Statewide Conference on Oct. 4-5.
The Staff Council has been allotted an extra $500.00 this year. A vote was taken as to whether to use this money to move the Council meeting to the Tate Center. Only two votes were affirmative so the meetings will stay at the Law Auditorium. The Council approved using $250.00 of this money for a scholarship fund to help send people to statewide conferences. Brenda is also taking orders for T-shirts which can be worn to the conference (or elsewhere). The T-shirts, which should cost approximately $8.00 per shirt, are being funded through the "President's Venture Fund" Allision Wright, Annette Hatton and Melanie Andrews are working on the T-Shirt project.
-Jean Cleveland is heading up a committee to discuss North Parking Deck concerns with Parking Services. Anyone interested should contact Jean Cleveland.
New Business:
-Bonnie Norwood is going to check around campus and see which areas don't have any staff representation. Kathy Hines thinks that the Benefits Open Enrollment period from October 15-November 15 would be a good opportunity to get information about staff representation out to everyone at UGA. Brenda Keen suggested a special issue of "Staff Voice" devoted to the issue. The Communication Committee will check into this issue.
-President Michael Adams will be addressing the Oct. 3rd meeting. Questions should be submitted before the meeting and everyone is invited to attend.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:30p.m.
Respectively submitted by Carol Bishop, Recording Secretary, October 3, 2001
