President Sarah Fraker opened the meeting.

Minutes from the June 7th meeting were approved.
Elizabeth Pape distributed the duties for members of the Executive Committee. (Copy attached)
Jim Graham, Tony Hughey, Robyn Ansley, and Debbie Helsel were nominated for the Executive Committee.
The ballots were passed out to the membership and the completed ballots were returned to Margot Peter. Robyn Ansley, Jim Graham and Debbie Helsel were elected.
Elizabeth Pape gave a report on the statewide Staff Council meeting to be held October 5 and 6 in Marietta. Copy of registration form is attached.
Sarah gave the President's and the Executive Committee's report as follows:
The next Executive Committee meeting will be scheduled for August 24th but may be changed. The regular date for Executive Committee is the 3rd Thursday of each monthat 2:30 in the Staff Council office in Hardman Hall.
Liz Stitch questioned an article in the Red and Black regarding funding found at the end of the fiscal year for a lighted sign for students. She asked why these funds were not made available for staff raises. Margo Peter responded that money is allocated by line item and these funds were designated for student use.
Sally Kroehnke attended the June Board of Regents meeting and Staff Council plans to have a representative at each Board of Regents meetings.
Vice President for Research, Joe Key, has retired. Sally Kroehnke will represent the Staff Council on the UGA Search Committee.
Attached is the list of Staff Council committees and members for 2000-2001.
Regular meeting was adjourned at 3:45. The new Staff Council committees met immediately following the regular membership meeting..
The next meeting will be held on September 13 at 2:30 in the Auditorium of the Law School.
